About Megan McQ

Megan studied Corporate Communication at James Madison University. Her major was in the school’s Media Arts and Design program. The major taught strategic communication strategies on the new social media forefront and provide a vast background in the theories behind digital communication, including: Search Engine Optimization, Web Design Aesthetics and Communication Law. Her capstone course, Corporate Communication Management, provided hands-on application of Corporate Communication theories through a semester-long case study that required the development of communication strategies that utilized new media techniques for a faux-Fortune 500 company.

Following graduation, Megan worked at Edelman, the world’s largest PR firm and PR Week’s 2009 Agency of the Year. Specifically, she worked within the Digital Public Affairs department in DC. Her primary client was a fortune 500 company.  She worked with the best practitioners in the digital PR industry and developed a strong understanding of the ways to implement strategic plans and monitor online conversations across various new media platforms.

Recently, Megan recently was chosen from 45 contestants to be one of 12 guest bloggers for a blog-off competition. The blog-off competition was hosted on The Community Marketing Blog, an up-and-coming industry blog that receives 10K page views per month. Megan placed 3rd in the competition and was selected to be a permanent blogger on the site.

Megan recognized the inherent need for companies to be active on the ever-changing digital landscape. NMC was established to meet the educational needs of her clients, forming strategic alliances to empower each client to put their best digital foot forward.
