Let’s start with a definition.
Communication: The ways in which we disseminate and receive messages.
This “communication” stuff has transformed and evolved overtime.
From the earliest caveman (and cavewoman) grunts to multi-million dollar advertising campaigns of today, communication is arguably the apex of business sales.
And here’s the best part.
We communicate every day. In theory, we’re supposed to be *good* at this stuff.
Oh those theories. I’m finding a lot of small and mid-size businesses can improve upon the ways in which we do this stuff called ‘communication.’
So, the ultimate question remains: How do we communicate?
Step 1: How to communicate. Get real. No one wants to read that.
For most of us, we enjoy authentic relationships with others. We strive to connect with people on a deeper level than just that typical ‘hey Bob, what’s happenin’?’ question you ask people with whom you don’t really connect with.
And that, in a nutshell is the basis for my business theory. I’m a relationship builder. I help companies build these authentic relationships with their potential customers, transitioning more prospects into sales.
The tactics (tools) that we use to communicate with others have evolved over time. Today, we’re using new social media tools such as Twitter, blogs, Web sites, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. to disseminate our messages and communicate our unique value added to prospective customers.
And just like communication, the strategies I develop vary from client to client. I conduct research and adhere to the most recent trends and best practices of this industry which in essence is ‘communication.’
